Couch potato for a night
I am not of fan of watching TV. I rarely spend more than thirty minutes watching news, or a movie. Ever since the Internet became part of my life, this is the only addiction I am trying to feed. I haven't watched a movie on TV since ages ago. I can't even remember when that was, or what was the movie.
When it comes to movies, I prefer going to the cinema, enjoying the benefits of a big screen and having lots of popcorn, which otherwise I would not have at home. Or better said, I would like to have it, but my wife would not allow me. She would go and mention my doctor’s advice and my latest lab results.
Anyway, lately I started to watch series and I got hooked on one called: 2 Broke Girls. I found it quite hilarious. I can’t explain why I like it so much. Or maybe I know. One of the main actresses, Max, reminds me of one of my ex-girlfriends. She looks a bit like my ex, and she definitely has the same type of dark humour, which I find delightful. My real Max was probably the one that got away, if you want to put it this way.
Last night, I watched an entire season of his TV series. My wife was amused and she joked saying I am turning into a couch potato addicted to soap operas. She never saw me spending so much time watching stuff on TV or Netflix. Even my kid said that I am watching more TV than he was. He did not think it was fair.
Because I went late to bed last night, I had a hard time waking up this morning. And because of that, I was late to pick up my mother in law and take her to the doctor. Apparently I had agreed to take her, during her last visit here. I personally do not recall any of these, but I can’t say anything to my wife. It will one cause another endless conversation that would end up bad for me.
I learnt to choose my battles and not contradict my wife, unless if it was really worth it, or if it was a matter of life and death. Otherwise, I let her decide most of the things for the house and our family, like the telephony provider sherbrooke, the cable company, where to go in vacations, etc.
